This time last year Mark Wright was getting to grips with dance lessons as a contestant on BBC1s Strictly Come Dancing.

Now he’s putting his feet up on Saturday nights and watching TV with his wife Michelle Keegan instead.

Speaking on the red carpet at the TV Choice Awards, he told heat: “I watched it the other night and it was lovely to watch it one year on. There’s a few good ones [contestants] in there. I think Jay from The Wanted is gonna to be good. I think Peter Andre is gonna be good, Georgia May Foote, and I think Kirsty Gallagher is gonna be good as well.”

More news!

Last year’s winner Caroline Flack returned to perform at the show’s launch but for Mark, he’s not touched his dancing shoes – well not since his wedding anyway. When asked if he’s still dancing, he said: “Um no. I haven’t put the dancing shoes back on yet. Maybe one day.”

And although he reckons he’d be able to pick the moves back up, he’s not sure if he’d do the show again. He told us: “As you go on, you start to pick up the dances a lot quicker. It took five days at first then it was like four, three, two – it never got to one with me, but I think I’d find it OK. It was a lot of work though so I don’t know. I loved it but also it was hard, I don’t know if I would definitely do it again.”

And although Michelle isn’t planning on taking part in Strictly any time soon, Mark says she’s been watching with him. “We always watch Strictly anyway and The X Factor – we watch them both, so Saturday nights are sorted.”
