Strictly Come Dancing's favourite couple Jay McGuiness and Aliona Vilani have both managed to injure themselves this week, sparking speculation they may struggle to complete their difficult dance routine this weekend.
Poor Aliona suffered bruising after Jay accidently kicked her in the head – TWICE – during rehearsals while attempting to learn the tricky Argentine tango, the Mirror reports.
A source told the newspaper that Jay is also dealing with an old knee injury that keeps flaring up thanks to the complex moves.
"This week has been filled with problems. He can’t get his head round the steps and has kicked Aliona a few times. They’ve barely completed it correctly at all," said the insider.
"Now Jay's knee is leaving him in real pain too so they can't work too hard. He's starting to feel the pressure."
With the Strictly celebrities and their dance partners spending up to 14 hours a day going over their routines, we're not surprised.
Even Peter Andre, who was originally tipped to win the show, has confessed this week that he's had to miss rehearsals thanks to prior work commitments, even though judge Craig Revel Horwood said he needs to stand out from the crowd more.
"Sorry to say it but Peter’s becoming a bit of an also-ran in the competition," Craig said this week.
"I'd be worried if I were him. He's missing the 'It' factor – and I want to see him fly not fail."
