In an attempt to leave the dad-dancing behind, BBC Radio 2’s Jeremy Vine is set to take to the dancefloor in this year’s Strictly Come Dancing.
With game face on and dance shoes donned, Jeremy wants to be real competition for the likes of fellow celeb dancers Iwan Thomas, Peter Andre and Kirsty Gallacher.
“I’m not prepared for the injuries, they haven’t said anything about that, but I am ready to embrace the tan and the sequins,” Jeremy told heat as he prepared for the glitziest show on TV.
Jeremy’s luck came in when he was paired with Venezuelan beauty Karen Clifton, who danced all the way to the final last year with former TOWIE boy Mark Wright. No pressure there, then...
The pair have since renamed themselves 'diVINE and Hot Lips' and are busy sweating, stumbling and, er, dancing around the training room in time for their first routine.
Jeremy confessed to us all about his desire to learn a few real moves. “I was at a wedding a few years back doing my speciality embarrassing dance,, like I’m trapped in a lift, then this guy and his wife danced the place down and I just thought, 'I’d love to do that',” he said.
Aww, we know that feeling, Jez!
With that life-affirming moment in mind, Jeremy has his heart set on showing the bookies that beneath the serious egghead exterior is one sexy samba-er!
