Sugababes Jade Ewan has reportedly been declared bankrupt after struggling to pay off her taxes.
The 27 year old replaced Keisha Buchanan in the ever-changing pop group back in 2009. However, it seems that she began to struggle financially after the girl split in 2012 and never reformed.
A source told The Sun: “Jade put her all into her music but sadly things simply haven’t gone well.
“She joined the Sugababes full of optimism and had high hopes given the band were very much established in the charts. But it seems she fell victim to their shelf life expiring.”
There has yet to be any official confirmation as to whether Jade has declared herself bankrupt.
Speaking about the band's split in 2013, she said: "I kind of was unlucky in that I came in [to Sugababes] towards the end of the cycle when things naturally came to the end."
Mutya Buena, who was a founding member of the original Sugababes, declared herself bankrupt after blaming an administrative error as the reason her taxes weren't paid.
Nevertheless, Jade seems to be working on a big action movie with ancient action man, Steven Seagal.
She tweeted: "On my way to Romania to shoot my first ever action movie 'End Of A Gun' with Steven Seagal! Wish me luck."
A whole host of '90s and '00s pop stars hit hard time financially in the last few years, including Blue's Duncan James, Simon Webbe and Anthony Costa, Shane Filan from Westlife and Jo O’Meara and Paul Cattermole from S Club 7. Kerry Katona, who rose to fame in Atomic Kitten, has been declared bankrupt twice.
