The second series of True Detective just got around 300 per cent better looking, as it was seemingly revealed that Taylor Kitsch will be joining the cast.
The John Carter and Friday Night Lights hottie apparently claimed to Adweek that he’s “prepping” for his role in the crime drama, but was keen to emphasise a deal hadn’t definitely been done.
Colin Farrell and Vince Vaughn have already been confirmed to star in the second series of True Detective, which was a huge hit earlier this year starring Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson.
Every Hollywood star and their dog (wait, if they had a dog in it, it would be the best show ever, wouldn’t it?) has been tipped to star in the series. Last month it was even reported that Rachel McAdams was close to signing a deal to play the female lead.
Anyway, back to Taylor, who claims he’s “itching” to get to work on the HBO drama.
“It's been almost a full year since I've been on camera, so I'm itching, man,” he’s reported as saying. “I'm overdue. You've just got to grind it out.
"Even taking this year off was, I mean you want to work, but you also don't want to just water it down and work for the sake of working. So, it was tough to sit a year out, keeping a finger crossed that I was going to get True [Detective]."
Creator Nic Pizzolatto has previously said there would be four central characters, meaning that there is one berth remaining; Mad Men’s Elisabeth Moss has been rumoured for the part as well as McAdams.
Speaking about the show, Taylor added: "I loved that first season of it so much. And it was so grounded. It could really happen. This is very similar, and I love that."
Erm, having seen the series finale of the first True Detective, we’re not sure we’d like any of it to “really happen” thanks Taylor.
Here's some more hot men for you. YOU ARE WELCOME.
