If we were Taylor Swift, we'd pretty much rather stick pins in our eyes than attend the Kardashian-West hotbed that was the VMAs.
She already had a Kanye West related nightmare back in 2009 when she didn't even know him (we will never stop laughing at him interrupting her speech), so just IMAGINE what could happen after they'd had an actual feud.

If you somehow still don't know about literally the BIGGEST feud of 2016 / life, you can catch up here.
Taylor Swift didn't attend the ceremony, obviously sparking rumours that she'd avoided it out of terror etc etc.
But it turns out she had a legit excuse for not being there (aside from hiding under her duvet with the TV unplugged fearing Kanye's wrath) - she was on jury service.
Seriously – this may be the most fortunate timing we have ever heard of in our lives.
We wouldn't even believe it were it not for all the pics of her wearing an actual Juror badge.
JUST IMAGINE being sent to prison by Taylor Swift.
But luckily for any potential criminals, Taylor was apparently dismissed as a juror by the end of the day.
Ken Whitehouse, a spokesman for the Davidson county district attorney general's office, told Associated Press that: "She asked to be left off out of concern for an upcoming trial in Denver, where she was - she used the term 'groped' - by a fan at a meet-and-greet."
The case in question was Taylor's Swift's counter claim filed last year after a radio host sued her for claiming that he'd groped her.
But Taylor reportedly told the judge she'd be more than willing to serve on a jury for another type of case.
All this comes after it was reported that her relationship with Tom Hiddleston (AKA the weirdest pairing since Cheryl and Liam Payne) was on the rocks.

A source told heat: "When they're together, everything is fine... Being apart is difficult, particularly for a new relationship."
Or maybe the conspiracy theories about Hiddleswift being an elaborate Taylor Swift video etc were RIGHT?
