As Blake Lively’s lawsuit with Justin Baldoni rolls on, her BFF Taylor Swift has been sensationally dragged into the legal drama after she was subpoenaed by Justin’s lawyers last week. Not only could Taylor now be questioned over her friendship with Blake, the pop icon will likely have to hand over any private messages between them, which could then be made public as part of the lawsuit.
‘This is Taylor’s worst nightmare. While she is one of the world’s biggest stars, she’s also extremely careful about what she shares in the public domain, so the thought of her private messages being released is horrifying,’ an insider tells heat.
‘She’s understandably in a complete panic about how this is going to affect her. She’s in a state of disbelief, not to mention being overcome with anxiety that this could potentially destroy her career. This has already deeply impacted her friendship with Blake – Taylor had to step back and make a conscious decision to keep contact with her to an absolute minimum.’
The legal battle began in December 2024, when Gossip Girl star Blake, 37, filed a lawsuit against her It Ends With Us co-star and director Justin, 41, accusing him of sexual harassment and attempting to damage her reputation. Justin hit back by suing both Blake and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, for defamation and is seeking $400million in damages. Now Taylor, 35, is being dragged into the drama as Justin claims he felt pressured to accept Blake’s rewrites to the It Ends With Us script, during a meeting where Taylor was present.
Taylor and Blake have a longstanding friendship that goes all the way back to 2015. The pair often feature on one another’s social media, and the pop star is also godmother to three of Blake’s four children. But, following this latest development, our source says, ‘It’s quite likely their friendship will be non-existent once this is all over.’
The source continues, ‘While Taylor’s been doing her best to support Blake, her sympathetic stance has understandably shifted as she feels incredibly angry and resentful towards her friend for being put in this position.’
And it’s not just Taylor’s friendship with Blake that could take a hit. Her relationship with Travis Kelce –who is reportedly also likely to receive a subpoena of his own – has now come under the spotlight. Last week the NFL player was said to have unfollowed Ryan on Instagram and, our insider says, ‘The stress is already starting to drive a wedge between Taylor and Travis.
