Scottish rugby player Thom Evans could have played 50 Shades Of Grey’s Christian Grey after admitting that he auditioned for the role back in 2013.

He told Attitude magazine: "I went up for Christian Grey. The audition was pretty tame to be honest, but it was a great experience for me.

"It's such a huge project and I'd be lying to say I wouldn't have loved to have got the role. But I think Jamie is perfect for it and I can't wait to see it."

Kelly Brook's ex added that he is still to stretch his acting legs, saying: “Ideally I'd like to do theatre stuff here and do things in England before I go anywhere else – it's just the opportunity for auditions over there [in Los Angeles] at certain times are obviously substantial so that's why I was over there."

The role was won by male model and The Fall star Jamie Dornan, who will star as the enigmatic character in this year’s sure-fire box office hit.

But, would you rather have seen Thom as Christian Grey??
