Prince William and Kate Middleton bumped into Jay Z and Beyoncé during the second half of an NBA game last night.
After visiting the White House earlier that day, to meet with President Barack Obama, Kate and Wills rubbed shoulders with the hip-hop royalty between the third and fourth quarters of the game at the Barclays Center in New York.
Wills and his pregnant wife Kate have such busy schedules that Kensington Palace courtiers pre-arranged the meeting with NBA officials – this would explain why Queen Bey dressed extra smart for the basketball game.
About a dozen people escorted the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge to their front row seats, which were directly across from Bey and Jay at the Brooklyn Nets vs. Cleveland Cavaliers game.
Appaz Kate and Wills received such a roar of applause when they arrived that it trumped the entrance of basketball royalty LeBron James. Or any other part of the game for that matter.
At the end of the third quarter Queen Bey strutted her stuff over with hubby Jay and the two couples shook hands.
No bows or curtsies here – just crossed-over handshakes and lively chat between the couples.
Upon returning back to their seats, Jay Z did a little jig after meeting W and K - someone was pleased with themselves...
As well as the centre beaming with excitement for the royal meeting, social media also lit up with photos appearing on Twitter and Instagram.
Tonight Kate and Wills will end their US trip by visiting the University of St Andrews 600th Anniversary Dinner at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, before they fly back home to the UK to be reunited with their son, Prince George.
Oh, also we LOVE that Kate and Wills met a sweaty LeBron, who proceeded to put his arm around Kate’s shoulder. LOL – exactly what you do when meeting Royals – you get cosy.
