Tom Cruise is reportedly leaving the Church of Scientology. (Cue dramatic music).
The actor is alleged to be leaving Scientology to spend more time with his daughter, Suri. It’s claimed the church are a bit particular about when Tom and Suri can be together (which, by our count isn’t that much) and now he’s had enough.
“[Suri] was going on and on about her ballet class and how much she loves it. That’s when Tom realized he’s never seen her perform ballet and he started to tear up,” an insider told Star.
“It hit him that she’s growing up before his eyes and he’s not there to witness most of it. They talk on the phone and video chat, but it’s not the same.”
The source also claimed that Tom – who split with Suri’s mum Katie Holmes after five years of marriage – is hoping that by distancing himself from the church he will be able to get back in touch.
Since they split, Tom and Katie have had a strained relationship and it’s said that the pair no longer speak, not even about Suri.
If Tom really does break away, who knows? It sounds like it’s time to build some bridges.
