Tom Hardy – who, among other big roles, famously played villain Bane in the 2012 Batman film The Dark Knight Rises - walked away from a role in Suicide Squad but claims he isn’t done with DC Comics yet. PHEW.

Speaking to Collider, Tom mentioned a pretty big-sounding project about to go down with himself and DC Comics. And according to Mr Hardy “it’s not even a movie.”

More news!

“I actually got something cooking with Warner Brothers, which is also a comic book, it’s a DC thing which is kind of… It’s really good actually, it contains elements of all kinds of stuff. From Ocean’s Eleven, to Batman, you can get all the wrappers out and it would be a big, really cool, technicolor, Pulp Fiction.

"It’s a psychological f**kfest, it’s absolutely awesome. It’s as if you take Transmetropolitan and make it happen, but it’s not that out there it’s something which is much more real world.

"It could be like Heat, it could be f**king awesome. Let me tell you what it is, try and guess,” continued Tom.

“It’s real estate, it’s PRIME real estate, which is sitting there right under everybody’s nose that no one’s really thought about yet and it goes to TV and movie, it’s awesome. I know they thought of it but no one has actually blown life into it yet.” Erm, what on earth are you on about Tom? You’ve completely lost us.

Anywho, hot-man Hardy also told the website that he wants the role of The Punisher or Splinter Cell:

“I want The Punisher… I want The Punisher, or Splinter Cell, I want something…I don’t know what I want.”

Although he later admitted: “I’m not big enough to be The Punisher, I’m 5’9” [Laughs].”

Tom stars in Mad Max: Fury Road, opening in cinemas May 15.
