Tom Jones hit the headlines this weekend when it was reported that he asked to have his own portaloo at V Festival.

And heat can reveal that just the day before, at V Fest’s Hylands Park site, the former The Voice judge wanted to eat on his own, too. He asked for his dinner to be delivered to his dressing room – at 7.10pm to be precise.

Jamie Oliver-inspired chef Luke Thomas, 21, got the most nerve-wracking job at V when he was asked to cook for the VIP guests next to the backstage VIP Mahiki bar.

heat caught up with him on Saturday afternoon after he’d been slaving over a hot stove where his dishes went down a treat with celebrities.

He told us: “It’s been super cool. It’s my first V Festival but the feedback has been absolutely amazing. “We sold out of our first lot of food, which was nice. I cooked lovely spiced Welsh lamb, lobster crab rolls and green curry, so very posh festival food. The food is all super-clean, super-fresh, tasty and also pretty healthy as well – apart from a very buttery brioche roll served with the lobster.”

Among the celebs Luke served was Fuse ODG, James Bey, Sam Smith and former TOWIE star Charlie King. heat watched as Luke delivered one dish – spicy Welsh lamb – to Tom Jones’ dressing room, less than an hour before he was due to perform. “I’m a big Sam Smith fan so it was nice to see him,” said Luke. “I didn’t get chance to chat to him, he was a bit busy but he’s a lovely guy. There’s more pressure cooking for celebs but it’s good and a lot of fun.”

Luke is no stranger to the limelight – he’s appeared on a number of TV shows, including Junior Masterchef, Great British Menu and Russell Howard’s Good News.

And if that wasn’t enough pukka tucker… he rustled up some posh hotdogs in the evening.
