Love Island's Molly-Mae Hague might have had her birthday in lockdown, but Tommy Fury pulled out all the stops. To mark her 21st birthday last week, the boxer decorated their flat with fancy balloons and bought her designer presents - but the biggest present Tommy bought her was a new puppy, Mr Chai (who quickly racked up almost 150,000 followers on Instagram).
But, sadly, only six days after taking the dog home, the couple have annouced that the Pomeranian - which they imported from Russia - has passed away, with Molly saying she is waiting for ‘some clearer answers in the coming days’ from vets.
‘Tommy and I are utterly heartbroken and shocked to even be writing this,’ she wrote to her 4.1million followers on Instagram. ‘Our beautiful new puppy Mr Chai was taken ill in the last few days and has tragically passed away. Chai became our whole world in the short time we had him and we couldn't have taken any better care of him.
‘We loved him so much and he brought us more happiness that we can describe. We are really hoping that we can get some clearer answers in the coming days whilst we wait for details and more information from the veterinary experts.'
