Chloe Lewis has spoken out about ex-boyfriend Jake Hall after he was stabbed on a night out in Spain.
The Only Way Is Essex star was attacked as a fight broke out between two groups of men in the resort of Marbella and he was horrifically injured by someone brandishing a broken glass bottle.
Reality star Jake was rushed to hospital where he was treated in intensive care, and he almost lost a kidney as a result of the terrifying incident.
Former couple Chloe and Jake’s relationship has been strained ever since they joined their ITVBe show but they finally ended their on-off eight-year romance this year after Jake allegedly slept with Megan McKenna.
Chloe was criticised by her Instagram followers as she posted details of outfits she was wearing on the site while Jake was recovering in his hospital bed after the attack this week.
But, in a bid to silence critics, Chloe has since spoken out, writing online: “I don’t feel the need to post all my feelings on social media… But instead of having negative people on my Instagram I thought I would.
“I have been with Jake for the last few days & I very much care about him.
“Big kiss to you! @jakehall01.”
The message was a caption for an image, which read: “I will always care for you even if we aren’t together… & even if we are far away from each other.”
Jake was out with friends in Marbella over the weekend when he became embroiled in a violent fight between two gangs.
A group of Liverpudlian pals he was with ended up in a bust-up with some Londoners at the Aqwa Mist nightclub.
Witnesses told how they were trying to attack each other with broken champagne bottles and shisha pipes.
“It was like something out of the Wild West,” an insider told the Daily Mirror.
“The problems started earlier in the day during a spray party at the Ocean Club when a bottle thrown by a group of men from London hit the girlfriend of one of the Liverpudlians.
“The Londoners had already been causing mayhem by playing a stupid game at a party the day before where they were smashing bottles over each other’s heads.
“It all kicked off for real in Aqwa Mist. Jake was with the Liverpudlians who are all well known in the area and he suffered a very bad injury.”
Holidaymakers told of horrific scenes after they saw Jake run from the club covered in blood.
One onlooker told the Daily Record: “We saw it. Jake ran out of Aqwa Mist as were walking in, into a car. Blood was everywhere.
“Thought we weren’t going to get in but they just got a hose out and washed away blood.”
Someone else tweeted: “Still can’t believe we were with Jake Hall the other night and watched him get stabbed.
“Most shocking and terrifying thing I have ever seen.”
But Jake is luckily recovering well and posed for a picture from his hospital bed in Spain in which he can be seen giving a thumbs up.
Posting the image on Twitter, he captioned it: “Thank you so much for everyone’s amazing support and getting me through this. I’m getting better thanks to everyone.
“Can’t get rid of me that easily.”
