Former TOWIE star Cara Kilbey has suffered a miscarriage five months into her pregnancy, her rep confirmed today.

The 26-year-old reality star, who announced her pregnancy on Instagram in January, went through the heartbreaking loss last week.

Her spokesperson said: “It is with great sadness that I must inform you, that last week Cara Kilbey suffered a late miscarriage. Cara was over five months pregnant when she lost her baby.

“Cara and her partner are devastated at the loss and will not be commenting further on this deeply upsetting matter. I hope their privacy is respected in order to give them time to grieve and seek support.”

The rep added that Cara is being supported by the stillbirth and neonatal death charity Sands.

The tragic news is especially poignant given that Cara’s best friend Billi Mucklow is pregnant at the same time, and the two mates had been posting pictures of themselves and their baby bumps throughout their pregnancies.

Billi, who is expecting her first child with Premiership footballer Andy Carroll, revealed her news over Christmas, with Cara letting her fans know about her own exciting announcement just a week later.

Earlier today, Cara posted a quote that said, “What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger”, captioning it with a simple broken heart emoji.
