Now the summer season is behind us, *TOWIE’*s Lauren Pope is looking to autumn/winter for her next collection for InTheStyle.
We caught up with Lauren at the AW14 launch, where she reveals which of her TOWIE castmates she’d like to wear her pieces and who she’s now friendlier than ever with.
Lauren said: “Each collection gets better and better. I know what I like but I don’t know what the masses like so designing a collection is always a bit of a risk. The slogan stuff is really hard – we write them down and think it’s really cool then a minute later we think actually that’s really crap and then try and find another one.”
Catchy slogans are not the only thing Lauren struggles with, she also has dilemmas when it comes to styling. “It’s hard to get palazzos that are long enough,” said Lauren. “I’m quite short 5ft5 but I always find they sit quite short, I always think they should sit a little bit longer to cover your feet.”
And she takes advice from her nearest and dearest, Lauren tells us: “I show friends and family [my designs]. Vas [Morgan] is always a good one because he knows, he’s got a good eye and he’s very honest, he’ll be like ‘Nah that’s rubbish’. He actually wants this floral jacket [I'm wearing] in an extra-large. That’s what I love about him, he’s not afraid to try new things. I think when he first came on the show everyone was a bit like ‘Ooh what’s that? What a freak - what is he wearing?’ but gradually everyone is starting to understand him, which is great. Charlie [Sims] sometimes makes me laugh a little bit with his bandana but at least he tries different things.
“I think Ferne [McCann] has a great sense of style. Again I don’t think she’s afraid to try new things, she always looks on point and there’s always something distinctive so I would love to see her in my stuff. Sam [Faiers] is really supportive. She wore one of the suits from my last collection. Lydia [Bright] has got great sense of style – some others not so much. I’m not naming names.”
But Lauren does say is she’s found a new love for Dani Armstrong and James Lock. She told us: “Me and Vas came away actually loving Dani and Lockie, we spent more time with them and when we actually got to know them. I think the reason we clashed with them [before] is I don’t think me and Vas are as vocal as they are in their opinions but when we actually sat with them, they think the same things as them.
"We really got on with them, even when me and Dani weren’t getting along she was still very much supportive of the collection. Grace [Andrews] borrows some of my clothing… and she didn’t even tweet, naughty Grace!” Naughty indeed.
