Well we’ve already been given a heads up that Toy Story 4 will be a love story, but now it’s been confirmed that Woody and Bo Peep will play the lead roles in this romantic comedy.
The pair have been flirting up in Andy’s room over the years, but things like cool new toys that think they’re actual space rangers, yard sale toy snatchers, and being rehomed in a hellish play group have always got in the way.
But speaking at Disney’s D23 conference, Disney Chief Creative Officer John Lasseter has revealed that the romance between them will finally play out in the next film.
He said: "It's something we've never done with Toy Story before. It's a love story with Woody - and this is news - Bo Peep."
He added: "At Pixar and at Disney, we only make sequels if we come up with a story that’s as good or better than the original. That’s our rule. We don’t do things just to print money."
That means it going to be AMAZING! But please, don’t make it as emotional as Toy Story 3, we can’t go through that again.
After initially confirming that there will new a new edition to the Toy Story franchise in November 2014, in March of this year Pixar president Jim Morris announced that the fourth film in the line will be a love story separate to the triology.
He said: “The third movie ended in a beautiful way and completed a trilogy. I think this movie is not part of this trilogy. It is a separate story, which in turn I do not know if [it] will be continued. Never begin a project with that in mind.”
The film is due to hit cinemas in June 2017.
