Tributes pour in for Sir Terry Wogan after sad news of TV legend’s death

Tributes are pouring in for Sir Terry Wogan after the sad news of his death was announced this morning.

Colleagues, friends and fans have been paying their respects to the broadcasting legend who passed away following a short battle with cancer.

His family released a statement saying: "[Terry] passed away surrounded by his family.

"While we understand he will be missed by many, the family ask that their privacy is respected at this time."

Sir Terry was known for his chat show Wogan, game show Blankety Blank and his popular *Radio 2 *show. He also presented Children In Need every year since 1980 - the first one he missed was just this year.
