Vernon Kay has allegedly been caught sending flirty messages to model Rhian Sugden.
The television presenter, who is married to Tess Daly and is father to daughters Amber and Phoebe with the TV host, was previously embroiled in a sexting scandal in 2010 when he admitted he’d sent steamy messages to Rhian, who is now engaged to former Coronation Street star Oliver Mellor.
The pair has apparently been back in touch and started communicating again just before Christmas.
A source told The Sun: “He knows he’s been playing with fire and God only knows what poor Tess will make of this.”
It is claimed Vernon suggested he and Rhian go for dinner in a bid to get some “closure” and he is said to have signed off the texts with a kiss.
The source continued: “Vernon told Rhian he wanted to reconnect with her and he gave her a false name in his mobile.
“Sometimes he texted her while he was actually presenting his radio show and it wasn’t long before they were speaking to each other over the phone.”
Vernon apparently admitted he was being an “idiot” by texting Rhian but still wanted to meet.
The star was said to have been worried he’d be caught out and reportedly even came close when he almost liked one of Rhian’s Instagram photos by accident.
According to the report, they planned to meet in January but the arrangement fell through due to work commitments.
In 2010 Vernon admitted to sending Rhian a text message every day for four months after meeting her in a nightclub in Bolton.
At the time, he said: “I’ve been an idiot and I’ve let my family down.”
