Posh goes back to basics to save fashion empire

When you’re as rich as Victoria Beckham, you’re used to living the ultimate luxe life and not worrying about how it’s being paid for.

But after it was revealed that her fashion label has lost £42 million since it was launched 11 years ago – including a £12 million loss for the last financial year – Posh has been ordered to tighten her belt and cut back on unnecessary items like her 24/7 driver and decorating her office with expensive plants.

“Things are going from bad to worse for poor Posh,” a source claimed. “The chauffeur has gone, she’s now driving herself or getting Addison Lees, and the designer plants are on the way out as their upkeep is too dear.

"Victoria is gutted but she’s put everything into her fashion empire and won’t give up without a fight.”

And heat’s been told that while Victoria, 45, wants to do everything she can to save her business, she is also thinking of other ways she can branch out and make money.

“Vic just can’t catch a break these days when it comes to her fashion empire, and she can feel the heat from everyone around her who are all wondering what she should do next,” our Beckham insider says.

“Vic knows it’s time for a change and is desperate to sink her teeth into a new project. She wants to launch her own lifestyle brand that trades on her being the perfect housewife – sharing all her tips and advice on how to achieve a serene home life.

"Gwyneth Paltrow has always been one of her role models and she wants to launch something similar to Goop that will showcase what she’s been really good at all the years, keeping the Beckham household in check and building up their family brand.”

Victoria – who has four children, Brooklyn, 20, Romeo, 17, Cruz, 14, and eight-year-old Harper, with husband David – feels that cashing in on her picture-perfect family life is the way forward, although David, 44, doesn’t seem to agree.

“Vic has been feeling really insecure about her next step and sees this as an opportunity to show off her skills of how she has raised her children, offering parenting tips, hosting A-list dinner parties with David’s pals, taking on renovation projects, and all the crazy beauty hacks she’s learned over the years,” heat’s insider continues.

“But friends feel she’s just piling on more pressure than ever and she'll be left feeling exhausted and disappointed if her new idea doesn’t take off."

"David is already starting to worry that it will require him to play a more traditional role of the ‘perfect husband’ alongside her – when what he really wants is even more freedom this year.

"He’s looking forward to spending a lot more time in Miami with his football team, shooting fashion commercials around the world and travelling with his mates.

"He’s not quite sure if Vic’s new business venture will sit well with Brand Beckham at large. Once again, their mutual pals fear they’re going in totally different directions.
