They lead a pretty amazing life all year round, but summer is definitely the season for peak Beckhams – a time they like to put all that brand business on hold, kick back and spend as an entire family, usually aboard their palatial yacht or, more recently, at their new multi-million-dollar Miami mansion. Not a bad life, eh?
And while there will be no shortage of sun, sea and luxury, we’re told that, although Victoria was hoping for a perfect summer with her family, it’s now tinged with sadness thanks to the ongoing rift with her eldest son Brooklyn and his wife Nicola Peltz-Beckham.
Sources tell heat the fashion designer has had to come to terms with the fact that her son and daughter-in-law will not be part of their summer plans, despite Nicola’s family estate being located in Palm Beach, just over an hour away from Miami.
‘The summer is normally the time of year that all the Beckhams relax and spend quality time with each other,’ says an insider. ‘Vic takes at least four weeks off work, and David tries not to have anything in his diary so they can all be together. But this year is going to be totally different as they’ve accepted that Brooklyn and Nicola won’t be joining them, even though they’ll likely be in Miami for some of the time. Both of them are always welcome to join the family, but both Vic and David are done with the fighting – Victoria especially just wants to escape all the drama.’
Relations between the Beckhams and Brooklyn, 26, and Nicola, 30, have seemingly reached rock bottom. After the couple snubbed all of David’s 50th birthday celebrations in May, things took an even more telling turn earlier this month. Shortly after Brooklyn posted a birthday message for his 14-year-old sister Harper, he was reported to have unfollowed his brothers Romeo, 22, and Cruz, 20 – a move that saw his actress wife follow suit. It was then alleged it was the younger Beckham boys who had blocked their older brother.
Friction is understood to have initially arisen between Victoria, 51, and Nicola back in 2022, when the latter didn’t wear a VB-designed wedding dress for her April nuptials with Brooklyn. Rumours of a fallout soon died down when Nicola was regularly pictured in public with her in-laws again, but this year has been rife with feud rumours once more, centering around Brooklyn and Nicola’s no-show for David’s birthday. Initial reports claimed it was due to Romeo’s relationship with a reported ex of Brooklyn’s, Kim Turnbull. But the Beckham camp soon slapped the stories down, claiming they had come from Nicola’s people and Brooklyn and that Kim were never an item.
heat previously reported that VB was ‘furious’ with how Nicola in particular was treating the family, but now we’re told she’s trying to take a step back. ‘Vic wants to be able to relax and spend time with people who want to be in their company,’ says the insider. ‘Harper will be with them and the other boys will fly in and out. Other family members and friends may join them, too. She and David have said they need to let their hair down, as it’s been such a stressful few months with all of this festering away in the background.’
Once summer is done and dusted, it’s looking to be a jam-packed few months for Posh, who is going to be starring in her own Netflix docuseries and also has London Fashion Week.
A source previously spoke to us about filming on her show, saying, ‘Over the years, Victoria has learnt not to really show her emotions and to make a joke out of things that have hurt her, but she really trusts the crew and she wants to show off her life warts-and-all.’
Now, our source says David wants his wife to completely switch off ahead of a busy autumn – and the launch of the show. ‘Vic hasn’t been herself recently and has been hiding away a bit. She just wants to concentrate on herself. David is keen for them to have fun as a family and as a couple, go on date nights, and show that nothing can break them. He’s promised her a perfect summer that she’ll never forget.’
