Vin Diesel has revealed the name he and his girlfriend Paloma Jimenez chose for their newborn baby girl - and it's truly moving.

The Furious 7 star revealed he named his daughter Pauline, after his late co-star and beloved friend Paul Walker, who tragically died in a car accident in 2013.

Speaking on the Today show, Vin spoke about how the name was a touching tribute to his "brother".

"He [Walker] was in the room. There's no other person that I'm thinking about as I'm cutting this umbilical cord," he said. "I knew he was there and I felt like, you know, a way to keep his memory a part of my memory, a part of my world."

Vin has recently spoken about the hardships of losing such a dear friend as they continued to promote the film Furious 7.

"When the tragedy happened, I lost my best friend," Diesel said last week. "I lost my brother."

"This was a labor of love," he added. "It was in some ways the hardest movie I ever had to do."

Vin and Paloma welcomed Pauline into the world on March 16. The couple already have two children together - Hania Riley Sinclair, 6, and son Vincent Sinclair, 4.
