With Donald Trump becoming the US president, the days getting more shorter and our off-the-sholder tops packed away for another year, we are all feeling a little 2004 emo all of a sudden. All we are missing is a fingerless fishnet glove and some kohl liner.

CUE Waitrose's Christmas advert which arrived last night and will give you all the feels. Perfect to watch when you are making your packed lunch tonight, suffering with intense Sunday night blues.

The Waitrose advert is all about a robin who is trying to get home for Christmas. He flits around as quickly as possible trying to get home for his beloved mince pie. Very similar to us trying to get home for Christmas via Paddington station on the 23 of Dec.

During this a minute and a half whirlwind, the teeny robin nearly drowns, get rescued, tackles storms, then shares his pie (which is massive in comparison) with his tiny robin girlfriend. We assume. It's hard to tell because they are robins.

LITERALLY SO EMOSH :(

Miles away from the John Lewis advert which made us grin like idiots and made our hearts skip!

The animals on the trampoline in slow-mo? I can't deal. No wonder it took the John Lewis team from January to conjure up.

Then their was the M&S advert, where Mrs Claus was hella BAD ASS. She literally saved everyone's Christmas by making sure they had red shoes and didn't even have a single bead of sweat on her forehead. Her husband didn't even notice. She didn't feel the need to brag. She just expected problems for breakfast and ate them. #goals
