The Duke of Sussex showed off his creative side when he took to the stage in London's West End recently. The Duke joined the cast and crew of the popular musical Hamilton, which is a hip-hop musical mocking the British monarchy. The performance was to raise money for the Duke's charity Sentebale which works with children and young people who are affected by HIV.

In the short clip posted on Twitter by Kensington Palace, The Duke can be seen taking to the stage, starting to sing, "You say...", before stopping himself he received a loud applause from the audience. He then went on to give a speech to thank everyone for raising money for Sentebale.

Hamilton was created by American composer Lin-Manuel Miranda, who is known for his work on Disney's Moana soundtrack and is also due to appear in the upcoming Mary Poppins Returns film.

That evening, Lin-Manuel met The Duke and Duchess of Sussex for the first time and told reporters, "You don't often get a direct descendent" to watch the show set in the 18th century. The Prince's sixth-great-grandfather is a character so that'll be fun and surreal for all of us."

The Royal couple then watch the extravagant king character during the biography of one of the US founding fathers - Alexander Hamilton.

It's understood that both The Duke and Duchess had already seen the musical, but were hosting the event to raise money for Sentebale. According to the Telegraph, nearly £300,000 was raised through ticket sales and donations.

Sentebale was founded in 2006 by The Duke of Sussex and Prince Seeiso of the Basotho Royal Family. The charity works to help children and young people affected by HIV, specifically in the African countries of Lesotho and Botswana.

Back in May this year, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle married at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle. After marrying, they took on the titles of The Duke and Duchess of Sussex. The wedding was attended by members of the Royal family and celebrities from around the world.
