In the days since Josh Duggar’s sex abuse allegations came to light, many reports have speculated about the end of the show that made him and his massive family famous – TLC’s 19 Kids And Counting.
Josh, the 27-year-old eldest son of the huge ultra-Christian family, admitted last week to having molested five girls when he was a teenager – four of who lived under the same roof as him at the time.

In response, TLC pulled all forthcoming episodes of the show from its schedule and there were mutterings it would cancel the whole programme – although this hasn’t officially been announced yet.
Josh also resigned from his job as executive director of the Family Research Council and released a statement about how Jesus had ‘forgiven’ him.
“I would do anything to go back to those teen years and take different actions,” he said.
“I sought forgiveness from those I had wronged and asked Christ to forgive me and come into my life. In my life today, I am so very thankful for God’s grace, mercy and redemption.”
But while Josh’s future in the show is going to be arguably non-existent, that doesn’t mean the rest of the family will be giving up their TV lives.

“They’ve invested a lot of time in developing these story lines and the last thing they want to do is to throw it all away,” a source told Us Weekly.
A separate insider, speaking to People, believes there’s still interest in the older Duggar girls – Jill and her husband Derick Dillard, along with their newborn son Israel, and Jessa with her husband Ben Seewald (who are expecting their first baby on 1 November, their first wedding anniversary) – could even get their own spin-off.
“The show had begun to focus more and more on the next generation of Duggars, anyway – mainly Jill and Jessa and their marriages and babies,” the source added.
“That’s when the show got its highest ratings.”
Meanwhile, Josh – who will face no criminal charges over the abuse – and his wife Anna are now expecting their fourth child.
