Grab your man-size tissues and prepare to sob until your eyes are just tight little redcurrants, because One Direction might be taking a break after the release of their fourth studio album, Four.

Speaking to Metro’s Guilty Pleasures, the band said that as they’ve been working super-hard recording their LP and touring, they’re looking forward to finally having some time off.

But could their hiatus turn into a lengthy time away from their fans? According to Louis Tomlinson… maybe?

“I think we are planning on having a conversation today about if we are going to do another album,” he said cryptically. “And if we are, we might take a little more time over it.”

But don’t worry just yet – as Louis added, “We’re still a band and still loving it”, so the endless speculation about Harry Styles breaking away to pursue a solo career can perhaps be taken down a notch.

“We’re completely set on what we are doing. We are here promoting our album so we are, of course, still strong as a band and we are very excited about this album.”

Meanwhile, the boys have also been warned off using photo-sharing apps ever since The Fappening, when loads of celebrities had their intimate pictures stolen and shared.

Niall Horan told the newspaper: “I’m shutting [iCloud] down now.”

Bandmate Louis added: “The positives [of living in a post-internet world] far outweigh the negatives. You’ve got your toes in now… I’m just not going to be using iCloud again.”
