In heat towers we’ve been obsessed about the idea of a Spice Girls reunion, but it looks like our dream could be in tatters. Next year marks the band’s 20th anniversary and although Mel B has hinted the girls have been in talks, now it looks like it could all be on ice, after Mel C refused to play ball.
Why? Because Victoria Beckham apparently still doesn’t want to be a part of it.
“To fulfil [the reunion] Mel believes the band has to be the original five-piece and Victoria needs to be involved,” an insider told the Sun. And seeing as Victoria doesn’t want to come back, it’s looking unlikely Mel B, Emma Bunton and Geri Halliwell’s plan will ever come to fruition.
“Victoria loved her time as a Spice Girl and wishes the girls nothing but success & happiness,” an insider told the Mail back in August. “[But] she is now too busy running her brand and fulfilling the needs of her family.”
BOO.
When the girls came back for a reunion tour in 2007, they made loads of cash and made millions of desperate fans (us!) very happy. Then, their set at the London 2012 Olympics was a triumph so we’re not sure why VB is dragging her heels so much.
15 minutes of pain for a lifetime of gain, Vic? Come on! PLEASE.
