As we all gear up for the return of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! next month, it looks like reality TV fans are also in for a treat in January 2020, as it's being reported that Winter Love Island will hit our screens on the 8th January!

According to the Mail Online{ =nofollow}, insiders at the popular ITV2 show have revealed staff are due to fly out to Cape Town on New Year's Day, with the official launch show expected one week later.

A TV source said, "The new Winter Love Island will launch the second week of January. Bosses are still deciding on the final date, but it is thought to be January 8 – a week after staff arrive in South Africa.

"It has been decided that the show will run for six weeks instead of the usual eight."

After getting her heart broken by Michael Griffiths, Amber Gill was swept off her feet when Irish hunk Greg O'Shea entered the villa with just two weeks to go! Despite only knowing each other for 12 days, Greg and Amber were crowned winners of the 2019 series, beating Tommy Fury and Molly-Mae for the Love Island crown. Unfortunately, the pair split just five weeks after leaving the villa, with Amber going on to secure a £1 million clothing line deal with Miss Pap. Greg returned to Ireland to complete his Law degree and play rugby and he's taking part in the Tokyo Olympics for Ireland.

Despite their hiccup during Casa Amor week, Essex girl Millie and Welsh lad Liam totally fell for each other in the villa! During the final, Liam asked Millie to be his official girlfriend and the pair now live together in the UK.

"The new cast of singletons fly out just days before the launch but bosses work with test Islanders to uncover the best spots in the villa to create drama."

Despite the reports, ITV are yet to officially confirm a start date for Winter Love Island.

After the success of Love Island in recent years, ITV made the decision to have TWO series in 2020, including a Winter edition which will take place in a brand new villa out in South Africa.

It sent fans crazy, with many saying, "It was the best thing the show could have done to beat those January blues". However, other's weren't too impressed, commenting how the show should only be aired in the summer.

Applications for Winter Love Island 2010 are now open. If you fancy jetting over to South Africa to take part in the series, ITV are urging candidates to apply online{ =nofollow}.

Applicants must be 18 years or over and hold a passport which will be valid for the whole period of 1st December 2019 to 30th June 2020.

The website states, "ITV2 are looking for vibrant singles from across the UK who want to head to the Winter sun, in search of love! The chosen cast will spend time in a luxury villa, getting to know one another, but to remain in paradise they must win the hearts of the public and their fellow Islanders who ultimately decide their fate on Love Island."
