We miss Amy Winehouse – and it looks like Mark Ronson does too.
He’s posted a lovely hand-written note to Instagram that reveals he’s dedicated his new album Uptown Special to her.
The touching note says: “For some reason, the dedication section was left off my album printing. I’m sure they’ll fix it for the future, but for public record…
“This album is dedicated to the memory of Teenie Hodges and DJ Mehdi.
“And to Amy Winehouse – although I wish you were still here, I’m always thinking of you, inspired by you and your music lives on in myself and everyone who ever felt it. Love, Mark.”
Amy and Mark were close friends, producing hits like Valerie together - and he produced her second album, Back To Black. The album won four Grammy awards.
Uptown Special is sure to do well in the charts – we’re all still obsessing over Uptown Funk, after all.
Let’s hope that the printers get themselves sorted and that this lovely tribute to the late, great Amy appears on the record, and pronto.
Amy died in 2011 from accidental alcohol poisoning after a long battle with addiction.
