Anyone applying for The X Factor this year might want to take note of this bit of advice from Little Mix – go hard or go home.
The ladies, who in 2011 were the first group to win, think too many acts expect success on a plate when the show finishes.
Talking to The Sun, Perrie Edwards said: “When we came off the show we never sat back and thought, ‘That’s it, we’ve won'.
We knew that people would be expecting success from us so we had to deliver it.”
Her band-mate Jesy Nelson added: “If you expect everything to be handed to you, that’s when it falls apart. That’s where a lot of artists fall down. We had to work so hard, I don’t think people realise that.
“Anyone that says it’s not credible, I’d like to see them give it a go.
“That’s what annoys me about people slagging off The X Factor – it can be a platform to go from working in Tesco to being able to change your life. Why diss that?”
SALUTE!
