Former X Factor contestant Christopher Maloney was involved in a car crash in Blackpool.
According to the Blackpool Gazette, the singer, who featured in the 9th series of the show, was with former Emmerdale star Kurtis Stacey when the crash occurred. The pair are currently working on a Pantomime production of* Peter Pan* together.
Maloney and his partner Gary Doran were admitted to hospital, but later discharged.
Stacey revealed:
"A car came into the back of us and crashed into two others, the driver was quite hurt. I jumped out of the car and tried to help him.
"His door wouldn't open and he was just lying there, his eyes were closed and he was shaking. He was unconscious so I was trying to get him to come round."
Christopher also tweeted about the incident, reassuring fans he was OK:
"Hey guys I've been discharged very battered & bruised but thankful to Lord above it wasn't more serious thanks for ur lovely tweets xx"
He added in a statement:
"Well this is what you get when idiots speed and I would just like to say a big thank you to Blackpool's emergency services for everything today regarding this situation."
