Former X Factor star Danny Tetley has been sentenced to nine years in prison, after he pleaded guilty to sex attacks on teenage boys as young as 14.
The 40 year old, who reached the semi-final of the singing contest after being mentored by Ayda Williams, was described as a "despicable creature" by the judge and said Tetley "exploited the status" his fame gave him.
It was reported back on 7th August 2019 by the mainstream media that the reality star had been arrested for allegedly having solicited sexual images of a child via social media.
Tetley then appeared in court on December 13 2019, pleadeing guilty to paying five 15 to 16-year-olds boys to send him indecent images.
Tetley is believed to have sent 10,000 WhatsApp messages combined to the victims, sending X-rated photos of himself to show the type of poses he wanted them to do.
He never met the teenagers, but is said to have sometimes paid up to £1000 per picture of them.
Being sentenced to nine years behind bars, plus an additional eight years on licence when he is released, the judge said, "What you demanded and showed were blatant and the disgusting level to which you sank, Mr Tetley, was quite unbelievable."
