Gamu Nhengu was THE story of The X Factor 2010. Well, other than One Direction. And Cher Lloyd. And Katie Waissell.
And it was because of the latter two that the Gamu scandal erupted, when Cheryl Cole chose her clone Cher (who didn't finish her song) and Katie (who jumped in a pool and was generally not popular with the public) over Gamu in her final three.
Gamu couldn't even come back as a wild card because of "deportation issues", which she has subsequently dismissed as something that was sorted out in five minutes.
Rylan Clark-Neal and Matt Edmondson launched a 'find Gamu' search during The Xtra Factor and the hunt was on to find the singer, who'd slipped under the radar since her time on the show.
And now Gamu's been found! And she's working in Topshop as a stylist. Could be a lot, lot worse.
But does she have fond memories of her time on the show? Err, no.
Taking to Facebook, Gamu said: "To be completely honest I was trying very hard to pretend that the past 6 years had not happened. If you stopped me in the street and asked me if I was 'Gamu from X factor' I 99% probably would've said 'no'. And honestly if you do it now it might still be the same…
"I was young and incredibly naive. Too polite for my own good, never standing up for myself.
"Never exposing lies that were spread. Instead I just hid away and tried to pretend it wasn't happening."
Wowzers. Still, we're glad she seems happy now and looks to be making music again with a band called Sheltrs, huzzah.
Remember when Katie Waissell went into Celebrity Big Brother and it seemed she was going to spill loads of *The X Factor *beans? That was disappointing when it didn't happen. Unless it was cut. CONSPIRACY THEORY ALERT.
