X Factor finalists Only The Young have cancelled their first headline gig after band member Parisa suffered the loss of her mother.

Parisa Tarjomani's mum, Sophia, had been fighting lung cancer for over a year and sadly died on Sunday.

The 20-year-old singer commemorated her mum in a heartbreaking Instagram post:

Boxing day was supposed to mark the band's first headline gig at Fulham's Under The Bridge, but the event was cancelled in the wake of the sad news.

Parisa’s fellow band member Charlie tweeted his condolences, calling Sophia, who was known affectionately to fans as Mummy OTY, his "second mum".

We're thinking of you all at this sad time.
