In an X Factor series jam-packed full of absolute dramz and controversy, it’s wonderful to hear some good news for a change.
And this comes in the form of contestant Saara Aalto getting engaged to her girlfriend of two years, Meri Sopanen.
Meri apparently popped the question while they were having a cosy night in in their pyjamas. Sounds like the kind of proposition we can get on board with…
Speaking about the day (that occurred on their second anniversary in August), Saara told OK magazine: "I washed off my make-up, put on my pyjamas and sat on the sofa. She just said: ‘Oh, we had a lovely day…’ Then: ‘Will you marry me?’"
Meri then added: "We did have candles! I wanted to do it when she wasn’t wearing make-up – I love her soul."
Literally, goals.
Saara also revealed that Meri has a bit of a thing for judge Nicole Scherzinger, revealing: "Meri has two idols – Nicole and me. We are the only girls in her life."
In other X Factor news, Honey G seems to be going from strength to strength in the popularity stakes, despite being in the bottom two at the weekend.
Cheryl even revealed that she wants her to win!
When asked by Hello magazine whether she was watching The X Factor, she replied: "No I haven’t – should I be?
"I have heard a lot about Honey G though…
"My nieces and nephews think she is great and I really hope she wins, just for them."
We’re with ya there, Chezza.
Also seemingly in her fan club is X Factor choreographer Brian Friedman, who claimed that she’s the biggest act since One Direction.
Speaking exclusively to heat, he said: "Honey is not a bad act at all, she is an acquired taste," he told us. "She really believes everything she is doing, and she works her butt off. When we’re there on Saturday night and she steps into the room, [the audience] go crazy. And I’ve only heard that sort of fandom with acts like One Direction. She’s definitely the highlight of the week for me."
