Well this is bloomin’ lovely, isn’t it! Katie Piper has got engaged!
The television presenter announced the happy news on Twitter this morning after boyfriend James asked for her hand in marriage.
She wrote: “So excited to tell you all............... I became someone’s fiancée last night! I’m engaged to be married :).”
It looks like Katie, who shares daughter Belle with carpenter James, was proposed to at home on Friday evening when she posted a picture of herself at the dinner table in a glamorous dress on Instagram for fans.
The TV star wrote: “Pretending we are going out for dinner! Cooking 3 course meal, dressed in our best clothes – all taking place at our kitchen table! Parents night in/out #nobabysitterneeded.”
After announcing the news this morning, she was quickly inundated with congratulatory messages from fans.
She replied: “Thank u so much 4 all of lovely congratulations msgs. I’m reading them out 2 B instead of her usual story book! Very touching Msgs thank u.”
Katie was a former model who suffered a horrific acid attack in March 2008 by her ex-boyfriend and an accomplice.
She was left blind in one eye and surgeons removed all the skin from her face before rebuilding it with a skin substitute.
After waving her anonymity to raise awareness, she carved out a successful career in television but primarily works for her charity, the Katie Piper Foundation.
She had been with now-fiancé James for two years before they announced they were expecting Belle in October last year and she gave birth in March this year.
