Years & Years, Catfish and the Bottlemen, Laura Whitmore and loads of other celebs celebrated at the Google Play BRIT nominations after party last night at The Mondrian hotel in London.
Nominees and party-goers alike snacked on canapés like braised ox cheek and chicken biryani, washed down with G& Tea cocktails in teacups from The London Bar Consultants. By the end of the night over 600 of the infused cocktails had been seen off – and we swear we were only responsible for half!
This was all topped off with 400 marshmallow desserts by The Marshmallowist – trust us, they’re well posh!
After the nibbling and the mingling it was time to hit the dancefloor. Grandmaster Flash kicked off proceedings, playing a poignant tribute to the late David Bowie as punk designer Pam Hogg and style blogger Bip Ling showed off their moves to ‘Rebel Rebel’. He then launched into an epic set that included loads of our favourite #tbt tunes. From J Lo’s ‘Get Right’ to Eve’s ‘Who’s That Girl?’ – Grandmaster Flash reminded us why he’s still the best.
Wolf Alice, Frances and SBTV founder Jamal Edwards were also in attendance but nobody was boogying as much as Years & Years singer Olly Alexander. The band were nominated for four awards yesterday so we can’t blame him for celebrating.
The band's number one 'King' is up for best British single and best video, and they've also been nominated for best British breakthrough act and group.
Both Adele and James Bay are also up for four awards; Adele's record-breaking album 25 is up for best British album, and she's also been shortlisted for best British female, single and video while James will contend Adele for best British album and is also nominated for best British male, breakthrough act and single for his hit 'Hold Back the River'.
If this is how the nomination party we went we can only IMAGINE how the BRITs will go down – bring on February 24!
