It was sadly announced last June that Sophie Gradon, Love Island series two star, had passed away at the age of 32.
Friends, family and co-stars shared many emotional online tributes to Sophie, who was crowned Miss Love Island 2016 during her time on the show.
Yesterday, Sophie's Love Island co-star Zara Holland took to Twitter to share a heartbreaking tribute to the beauty, reminiscing Sophie's empowering speech back in 2016. Zara wrote, 'Just came across this on my twitter.. We will always remember you Sophie, your incredible, and just wish you where here. We all love you & miss you so so much. I think about you and your family everyday x' [sic]
One fan responded to Zara saying, 'Sophie is an angel who had such a bright personality❤️ I love and miss you Sophie I’ll never forget you!' [sic] with another adding, 'What a loss to this world 😔 talented and with a beautiful soul ❤️❤️ miss you Sophie' [sic].
Sophie's woman empowering speech revolved around the unfair treatment of Zara after her departure from the villa, describing her as experiencing a "torrent of judgmental and closed-minded opinions."
Standing in front of the fire pit, Sophie said, "Life shouldn't be about judging one another."
She continued, "As an ex Miss Newcastle and Miss GB, I can say that it's time people move forward from their old-fashioned thinking."
Our thoughts are with Sophie's family.
