Since leaving One Direction, Zayn Malik has been relatively quiet on the social media front. Understandable, really, given the drama-rama he and the band went through.

But now he's sent his first proper tweet since March 18 - and he seems to be in chipper spirits (well, as much as you can gage from 120 characters).

He then followed up with a tweet clarifying what he meant by "x" - because people REALLY read into what he tweets these days.

We're assuming the singer is doing a shout out to his family and fiance Perrie Edwards - and the star looked pretty happy when he stepped out at the Asian Awards at the weekend - his first public appearance since leaving the band - where he showed off a newly-shaved head.

Naughty Boy is probably one of the mates Zayn was talking about too - the pair have been doing music together, and he presented Zayn with an honour at the awards, and told people to allow Zayn to "follow his own destiny":

"Every man needs to follow his own destiny... He has achieved in five years what some of us would achieve in a lifetime."
