Zayn Malik has just revealed the real reason he quit One Direction back in March – and 1D fans aren't going to like it.
It came about after Simon Cowell tweeted last night to say Zayn had been signed by record label RCA Records, a sister company to Si's very own Syco label.
"We have been working on this for a while and I am pleased to say congratulations to @Zaynmalik on signing with @RCARecords," he wrote.
"I believe they are the perfect label for @ZaynMalik’s solo career and I am sure whatever they release together will be special." Zayn then decided it was time for some explainin'.
He tweeted a picture of himself signing some paperwork at his new musical home, followed by the single hashtag "#REALME".
Zayn, 22, will join the likes of A$AP Rocky, Alicia Keys, Chris Brown, Miley Cyrus and, uh, Britney Spears at the label.
None of his former bandmates – Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson – have publicly congratulated Zayn yet, which is hella awkward in our book…
