When Gigi Hadid celebrated her 21st birthday a few weeks back she must have been on the top of the world. The modelling sensation is part of Taylor Swift's unstoppable girl squad and is dating the hottest guy in pop – Zayn Malik. Or is she?
A source who spoke to Life and Style magazine said Zayn called it quits on their fledgling relationship two weeks after her birthday on 23rd April. We were going to say that's cold but at least he waited for the party to wrap.
The shock split has apparently left Gigi reeling.
The source said: "Zayn told Gigi that he wanted to keep his options open and work on himself.
“Gigi was shocked because she thought they were a perfect couple. She is absolutely heartbroken and has been feeling really sad ever since.”
If Zigi's loved up bliss had crashed and burned before The Met Ball on 2nd May, they kept it together beautifully for the cameras – stepping out as matching cyborgs for the "fashion in an age of technology" theme.
Even more bizarre is THAT t-shirt Gigi sported a week later at American festival Wango Tango, straight after Zayn shared the stage with her ex Joe Jonas.
Zayn ironically tweeted a pic of Gigi rocking the "lol ur not zayn malik" t-shirt with the caption: "Thas ma girl"
So is it on or is it off? We're just as confused.
Yesterday on Twitter, Gigi plugged Zayn's performance on The Voice with oodles of handclaps and, most importantly, a love struck emoji:
At least we know how she feels. But is Zayn still calling her ma girl?
