Is Zayn Malik going into THEATRE? Ex-1D singer wants to start treading the boards in London

Zayn Malik wants to land a juicy acting role in a London theatre after sensationally quitting One Direction back in March, according to new reports.

The 22-year-old singer is apparently in talks with the Old Vic, which is doing a series later this year called 24 Hour Plays. We're not going to explain what that means, you're all intelligent human beings.

According to a Mirror source: "Everyone expects Zayn to go a certain way now he has quit 1D but his people are already talking with organisers of the 24 Hour Plays to get him involved.

"They want him to make a cameo, which won’t require much acting but will see him in a grown-up light among some great A-list company. They also want to maintain his profile in America."

That would be SO GOOD.

Zayn actually started out life in acting – he trained as one before going on The X Factor and meeting the other 1D boys, so it'll be a return to his roots.

Meanwhile, the remaining One Direction lads played their first UK gig without Zayn in Cardiff last night, and loads of fans booed when they saw old footage of Zayn on the big screen. So we're guessing they probably won't be buying Old Vic tickets later this year...
