Zayn Malik only announced he’d quit One Direction yesterday but it seems he may already be working on his solo career – the singer was seen heading into a recording studio in London today.
The star claimed he left 1D because he wanted to be “normal” but some people questioned his motives for leaving the biggest boyband of the moment after today’s sighting.
One fan tweeted: “If @zaynmalik doesn’t want to be in the spotlight then why is he at a recording studio??? #ZaynMalik.”

Another person wrote: “@zaynmalik hi zayn! Just wondering how your life as a normal 22 year old at a f**king recording studio is going?”
And another Directioner posted: “Hey boo going to a recording studio doesn’t make it look like you wanna be a normal 22 year old @zaynmalik.”
The former One Direction star is yet to speak out about his future plans but earlier this month, before Zayn left the band, producer Naughty Boy spoke about a project he was working on with the star but he denied that would take him away from the band at the time.
He told The Sun on Sunday: “I can’t deny the fact that we have made music together.
“That’s music we’ve made for One Direction and also that Zayn is going to feature on my next album.
“We’re making music and having fun.”
Zayn announced he was leaving 1D yesterday after five years with the band.
He said: “My life with One Direction has been more than I could have ever imagined. But after five years, I feel it is the right time for me to leave.
“I’d like to apologise to the fans if I’ve let anyone down, but I have to do what feels right in my heart.
“I want to be a normal 22-year-old who is able to relax and have some private time out of the spotlight.
“I know I have four friends for life in Louis, Liam, Harry and Niall. I know they will continue to be the best band in the world.”
