When Zayn Malik walked off stage in Perth on 20 February, just three songs from the end of the last 1D gig of the Australia tour, his fans went berserk. Niall Horan told the crowd Zayn was “sick”.
But just hours later, Zayn, 22, was boarding a plane to LA, where he met up with rapper Wiz Khalifa, who has his own type of cannabis grown for him (Khalifa Kush) and has been arrested 21 times for possession of the drug. In May last year, a video emerged of Zayn smoking what looked like weed, when the boys were on tour in Peru in April, with Louis Tomlinson saying in the background, “Here we are, leaving Peru. Joint lit. Happy days.”
Zayn, along with Louis, flew the 9,329 miles to LA, while Niall, Harry and Liam flew straight to Japan to settle in before the next leg of their tour.
Perhaps it wasn’t 100 per cent necessary for Zayn to bail out of the show early? We’ve noticed his comments on social media have been a bit strained. On the day he reportedly fell ill, he retweeted, “Let’s just call this shit even.” The day after, he wrote, “Has Twitter heard of a delete all button?” He then posted a fan’s tweet that said, “Delete all bullshit and drama button?”
