Zayn Malik quits One Direction: Liam Payne reveals Zayn ALMOST got thrown out of 1D back in 2010!

With the insane bombshell that Zayn Malik has quit One Direction after five years in the band, we’ve learned that he ALMOST got chucked out of the five-piece right back at the start of their career.

Speaking in an earlier interview, bandmate Liam Payne and Zayn revealed how his no-show to an important band meeting meant he could easily have missed out on 1D’s stratospheric rise to fame.

“That was early on, that was when the boys first decided to get together and go and meet each other. I think something was going on at home and I couldn’t make it,” Zayn said.

Liam explained: “I think for us, in our mind, it was the first time we’d got ever the chance to sit down and talk to each other, but unfortunately Zayn couldn’t make it, so for us it was like, ‘how’s this going to work now – is he going to turn up? Is he going to be there? Who knows!’”

Luckily, Zayn eventually managed to make it to a meeting – and the rest is history. SOB.
