WATCH: Zayn Malik gets a hilarious birthday message from Ryan Reynolds

Last Friday Zayn Malik celebrated his 25th birthday and of course birthday messages came in from far and wide, but there was one in particular which stood out. Taking to his Instagram account Zayn uploaded a short video from the actor Ryan Reynolds dressed as the Marvel character Deadpool.

On the video Ryan can be heard saying, "Zayn, it's Wade," referring to his superhero character's 'day-to-day' name. He then continues, "Don't hang up!

"I just want to wish you a very happy birthday. Again."

As the video continues it then takes an unusual turn as Ryan continues,

"I also want to apologise for jumping out of the cake like that. I didn't realise it was the middle of the night, I had no idea I was in the middle of your bedroom.

"I want to thank your security, who were very, very gentle and creative with the taser."

This birthday video had a lot of reaction from fans of both the 'Dusk Till Dawn' singer and the Deadpool actor, with one saying, 'Oh dude i love zayn and love deadpool like its a suprise for me too it's zaynpool....' with another saying, 'Hahahhaha Legend greet Legend 😍😂'.[sic]

In just three days the video has racked up a massive 4.2 million views, compared to the throwback photo Zayn shared on his birthday which has 2.5 million likes.

On his birthday Zayn took to Instagram to post a throwback photo of when he was just one-year-old. Writing the simple caption of '1-25', Zayn looks very happy with himself as he smiles into the camera as a toddler.

Fans of the 'Pillowtalk' singer were quick to comment on Zayn's photo. One wrote, 'Happy birthday babyy i love you❤️❤️❤️', with another adding, 'Happy Birthday Z! Love u ❤️❤️. [sic]

Another then said, 'So proud of you!'.

In other Zayn news, just yesterday it was revealed that Zayn has a tattoo of one of his girlfriend's eyes on his chest! Fans noticed this when Gigi uploaded the playful video of Zayn to her Instagram account. A tattoo of the model's eye could be seen on Zayn's chest, sending fans of the pair into meltdown.

Since leaving One Direction Zayn has had huge success as a solo artist, releasing three top 10 singles including 'Pillowtalk', 'I Don't Wanna Live Forever' and 'Dusk Till Dawn'.

The video for 'I Don't Wanna Live Forever' has also been shortlisted in this year's BRIT Awards for British Artist Video of the Year. Currently 10 videos have been shortlisted taking into account views on YouTube and VEVO, these will now be reduced to five nominations after a public vote which is taking place on Twitter.
