Zayn Malik shocked fans last week when he cancelled his appearance at the Capital Summertime Ball at the last minute and broke his silence on his anxiety issues.
Addressing fans on Instagram, Zayn said: "Unfortunately my anxiety that has haunted me throughout the last few months around live performances has gotten the better of me.
With the magnitude of the event I have suffered the worst anxiety of my career. I cannot apologise enough but I want to be honest with everyone who has patiently waited to see me, I promise I will do my best to make this up to everybody I've let down today.
I know those who suffer anxiety will understand and I hope those who don't can empathises with my situation".
But in attempts to find help for his struggle with his nerves, Zayn's team have reportedly attempted to contact Adele's manager after she had trouble overcoming a similar issue.
A source told the Sunday Mirror that "Zayn's management are doing everything they can to help him because its having a major impact on his career. I believe he's been in touch with Adele's manager Johnathan Dickins about it because Adele got a lot of help with panic attacks and stage fright - and look at her now.
They're pulling in people who can help him because he can overcome this and if he's going to stay in music and singing he absolutely has to get it under control".
Adele is due to headline at Glastonbury this coming weekend, but has always previously shied away from doing so as well as refusing to perform in front of huge crowds.
Back in 2011, she commented to Q magazine: "I have anxiesty attacks, constant panicking on stage, my heart feels like it's going to explode because I never feel like I'm going to deliver, ever.
I will not do festivals. The thought of an audience that big frightens the life out of me. I don't think the music would work either. It's all too slow. I'd hate to book a festival and have a f****** anxiety attack and then not go on stage".
Let's hope Adele's management will help Zayn on his road to recovery!
