Zooey Deschanel names her baby daughter after a cute weasel…

Zooey Deschanel has revealed the name of her baby girl nearly three months after giving birth.

Taking to the red carpet during the premiere of Rock The Kasbah the New Girl actress - who was recently replaced by Megan Fox - finally got loose-lipped about the name of her baby girl.

Zooey, 35, announced her first baby and marriage to husband Jacob Pechenik on the same day back in early August 2015. But despite the double-whammy of excellent news - we know you guys love babies and weddings - we had to wait until Monday’s movie premiere for the baby name deets.

So what is Zooey Deschanel's baby called?

“It’s Elsie…” Deschanel began, while her husband finished with “Otter. Like the animal. Sea otter.”

Yep, we know what an Otter is guys. Elsie is a nice name, but, erm, Otter? Really? Do you just love those cuddly dudes that much? We're a huge fan of their work, obviously, but we're not sure we'd name a baby human after one, especially our own baby human.

Now all we have to wait for is some pictures, as Zooey has yet to share any of her Ellie Otter. However, her New Girl co-star Lamorne Morris who plays Winston, assured People that: “She’s an extremely cute baby. She looks like Zooey.”

Let’s face it. How could she not be?
