‘Zouis’ tragic ‘bromance’ in pictures

The band sailed through the live shows, making it to the final.

Sadly, they were beaten out by Rebecca Ferguson and eventual winner Matt Cardle.

Luckily, they had already won the hearts of thousands of fans across the world, and following the release of their first single, they travelled all over the globe. Pretty soon the group was one of the biggest boy bands on the planet.Fans soon dubbed Zayn and Louis' 'bromance' as simply 'Zouis'.

Zouis soon started collecting some, erm, interesting tattoos.

The boys were always getting in trouble together, but things got serious when the pair were caught smoking on video in Peru, allegedly with their mates Marie and Juana cough.

The pair had steady girlfriends throughout their time in One Direction, but when Louis split from Eleanor Calder earlier this year Zayn was there to offer a shoulder to cry on.Acting as a wingman to newly single Louis, Zayn accompanied him on nights out during the Asian leg of the One Direction 2015 world tour.After Zayn was accused of cheating on Little Mix fiancé Perrie Edwards during a particularly wild night with Louis, Zayn flew home. He was later signed off with ‘stress’.

Days later it was confirmed that he had quit One Direction. Louis and the rest of the band wished him luck and offered their support.

Fast forward a couple of weeks, and Louis has a pop at Zayn's new best mate Naughty Boy. Zayn retorts with: 'Remember when you had a life and stopped making bitchy comments about mine ?'Is this the end of Zouis????
