We've spoken to a fair few Big Brother evictees now and while each one of them has been an absolute delight in their own way, Sarah Griffiths has without a doubt given us the most to think about – and, indeed, been willing to dig deep into certain dynamics within the house in our one-on-one with her. Not only did she reveal the name of the Big Brother 2024 housemate she had to explain 'her line' to when it came to banter (a dynamic we never really saw), but she lifted the lid on the rather complex relationship she had with fan favourite Ali Bromley.
Sarah, was of course, besties with Marcello Spooks in the house, and fans won't need us to tell them that it's been up and down since day dot for Marcello and Ali; naturally – as in real life – if you're bestie doesn't see eye to eye with someone, it's probably going to create friction and confusion between you and said person, too. And according to Sarah, she struggled just as much as Marcello to understand where Ali's 'line' was when it came to what Sarah calls 'more promiscuous' chat in the house.
Speaking of the memorable moment when forensic psychologist Ali asked Marcello to stop talking about 'wanking' around the sofas because she couldn't leave the situation (Big Brother had told housemates to gather on the sofas), Sarah exclusively told heatworld, 'My personal opinion on that is we were sitting around and [Marcello] said a comment and I know she said, "Please don't talk about that because of my work" and other things, and to be fair, Marcello did stop, and I don't think he did it around her because he understood her line.
'For me that was interesting – and i spoke about this with Ali – and we had other conversations around the house of a similar nature, you know, a more promiscuous nature, and she perhaps didn't leave the situation. So that's where I felt a bit confused. I don't know if Marcello felt the same, but that's how I felt.'
And here's the bit we're fairly certain we never saw on camera...
Sarah added, 'I did talk to [Ali] about that and I said, "I also don't want to make you uncomfortable, but we have been in conversations of a promiscuous nature and you didn't leave, so where is your line?" And she explained sometimes she does leave and sometimes she doesn't leave, I think she was building her confidence and speaking up and that's why it appeared inconsistent, but that's something we talked out.'
Sarah was evicted from the Big Brother house just ahead of tonight's grand final. Ali still remains in the house and is one of the favourites to win Big Brother 2024 (she's certainly Lily's favourite to win).
